To our Veteran Community, Sponsors, and Supporters:

Effective immediately, Texas Veterans Two-Step, Inc. (TV2S) is temporarily suspending all upcoming public events, mobile pop-ups, and our end-of-year Veteran appreciation celebration. This difficult decision was made to protect the integrity of our organization and, most importantly, the trust of the Veterans we serve.

What Happened?

On September 25, 2026, the Texas Veterans Commission (TVC) launched its new Texas Veterans Access (TVA) portal. This sudden transition fundamentally altered how Veteran Verification Letters (VVLs) are requested and processed, completely eliminating the third-party submission workflow that community partners like TV2S relied on to help process your paperwork.

Because this hard procedural shift was executed without advance warning to community networks, 24 Veterans who submitted their verification packets through our September 23rd event in San Antonio have had their applications stalled by the state's new system rules. We refuse to carry on with celebratory programming or advertise new events while these 24 individuals remain trapped in administrative limbo through no fault of their own.

Our Fight for Transparency and Accountability

TV2S is aggressively working to clear our name, protect our donors' capital, and hold the state agency accountable. We have engaged the state legal system to demand answers:

• October 2, 2026: 

TV2S filed a formal Texas Public Information Act (PIA) request to uncover exactly when TVC officials knew this portal cutoff was coming and internal communications regarding VVL criteria on the new portal, etc.

• October 19, 2026: 

Rather than releasing the internal communications, the TVC requested an opinion from Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, invoking a cybersecurity exception (§ 552.1391) to block the disclosure of these administrative deployment timelines and communications.

• October 21, 2026: 

TV2S immediately filed an aggressive counter-brief with the Office of the Attorney General. We have detailed to the state that hiding basic administrative planning and rollout communications behind a network hacking defense is an abuse of public transparency rules. 

We are prepared to intervene in district court if necessary to protect public disclosure.

How We Move Forward Together

Because the TVC has locked out community organizations without providing structural guidance or instructions on the new portal, TV2S cannot assist Veterans in navigating the new TVA system to order their VVLs. For now, we can only provide the support information available on our standard FAQ page.

However, our core commitment to your entrepreneurship remains unchanged. The absolute moment a Veteran successfully obtains their Veteran Verification Letter (VVL) independently through the new TVA system, TV2S stands ready to promptly file your business entity at no cost with the Office of the Texas Secretary of State.

We want to extend our deepest gratitude to PeopleFund and SouthState Bank for standing firmly behind us as we navigate this state agency bottleneck. TV2S has historically bent over backward to support state-level programs seamlessly, and we will not allow a sudden bureaucratic pivot to diminish the sacrifices of Texas Veterans or the intent of private community investments. We will step back into the public eye and resume our free LLC clinics the moment the State of Texas restores operational clarity and honors its commitments to our service members.
