NEXT STEPS AFTER I FORM LLC

Prepare to Conduct Business

Below you will find the step-by-step process through FREE RESOURCES to prepare your new Veteran-owned business for government contracting:


NAICS Codes

Determine Your North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Codes which identify the goods and services your business entity will provide.

Obtain EIN 

Apply for your Employer Identification Number Online:  

 https://www.irs.gov/businesses/small-businesses-self-employed/get-an-employer-identification-number


Set Yourself Up For Contracting


Step 1

Once you have EIN and NAICS Codes, Register Your Entity and Get a Unique Entity ID and CAGE code.

Register your business entity here:

Step 2

Once you have your Unique Entity ID and CAGE Code, Get your Federal Veteran-owned Business (VOB) or Service-Disabled Veteran-owned Business (SDVOB) Certifications through the U.S. Small Business Administration.

Step 3

Apply for the Texas Veteran Heroes United in Business (VetHUB) Certification which   focuses on certification of service-disabled veterans (SDV) to facilitate their growth and development and increase HUB contracts and subcontracts with the State of Texas. Step 4

Apply for Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) and/or local Small/Minority/Women/Veteran Business Enterprise (S/W/M/VBE) certifications.   (Choose only the agency that serves your local area)

Step 5

Once steps 1 through 4 are complete, register with your local APEX Accelerator to learn how to locate and bid on solicitations and obtain procurement technical assistance. Having Steps 1 through 4 complete before contacting your APEX Accelerator will save yourself A LOT of time.
